Supercurve - Frequency EP

Tearing into his 8th release on onesevenfour, Supercurve pulls no punches with a dance floor focused 3-track EP ‘Frequency’.

First track ‘Frequency’ dominates the entire spectrum throughout. It starts with an 80’s Spielberg movie-esk intro and Zimmer build-up which then leads into a tearing Serum fuelled oscillator-laden drop. Snappy up-front drums make sure the track keeps moving with sections of uplifting arpeggios and angelic choir harmonies providing reprieve. An immediate attention grabber, Frequency is a perfect set-starter.

‘Work’ pulls no punches when it comes to funk, vibe, attitude and rhythm. Steppy drums dance with the call and response vocals and synth stabs. The modern funk bassline holds through to a breakdown of futuristic sonic discovery and a switch up for the second drop. This one is non-stop dance floor funk through and through - ‘Work for me, dance for me, move, come on, shake, get it!’

Finishing the EP, and delving into more traditional dance floor territory, ‘Electronic’ is a fresh take on a familiar sound. Employing a classic teaser build-up, punchy kicks, an electro synth hook, and hefty bassline, a crowd reaction is guaranteed. Draw for this one as a closer, or to reinvigorate your crowd mid-set.
